Mindrum is a working mixed farm. We have a number of productive enterprises including sheep, cattle, arable, forestry, biomass and sporting activities. The farm provides homes for many of us who work on the farm and a number of others who are part of the community here on a permanent or temporary basis through let houses and holiday lets.
Our flock of mule cross suffolk ewes produce fat lambs with our annual cycle based on a spring lambing. We run a closed herd of suckler cows, breeding our own crossbred heifers from Simmental and Angus Bulls. Our Terminal Sires are Limousin bulls.
We have an Arable Rotation, growing a range of cereals and forage crops. A significant proportion of the farm consists of old grass.
We have a number of different woods of various types providing shelter and wood for a variety of purposes. The forestry operation provides wood chip biomass to power a number of properties and buildings on the farm. We also support a range of sporting and entertainment activities through the year.
